Anthropic Expands Claude Cowork to Mobile and Web Across All Paid Plans

Anthropic has made a significant advancement by expanding its AI work assistant, Claude Cowork, to mobile and web platforms. Initially launched as a desktop-only application in January 2026, this new capability allows users to access Claude Cowork across all paid subscription tiers, marking a pivotal shift in its functionality.

Since its debut, Claude Cowork has been designed to assist with multi-step knowledge work, functioning more like a digital colleague than a traditional chatbot. It can manage documents, organize files, and execute workflows without requiring users to write code. Recent data reveals that 33.4% of its usage is focused on business process operations, while content creation and software development account for 16.4% and 8.7% respectively.

The mobile and web versions introduce features such as remote session continuity and device handoff, enabling users to seamlessly transition between devices. For instance, a user can initiate a workflow on a laptop, check progress on a mobile device during a meeting, and resume on another machine.

As the competitive landscape grows, Claude Cowork faces rivals like OpenAI’s Codex, which is more developer-centric. However, Claude has successfully carved out a niche for non-coding professionals who require automation support, bolstered by its user base of over 600,000 organizations.
