Cloudflare CFO Predicts Non-Human Traffic to Outpace Human Traffic by 2026

During Cloudflare's Q2 2026 earnings call, CFO Thomas Seifert revealed a striking projection: non-human traffic is expected to outpace human traffic by a factor of 1,000 within the next five years. This shift is already underway, as machine-generated traffic surpassed human traffic on Cloudflare's network for the first time in May 2026, a milestone previously anticipated for 2027.

As of Q2 2026, non-human traffic constituted over 50% of all traffic through Cloudflare's infrastructure, with bot-generated requests making up 57.5% of total volume. The company reported a revenue of $696 million for the quarter, marking a 36% year-over-year increase, which it attributes to the growing demand for AI workloads on its platform.

Elon Musk supported this forecast, asserting that AI-driven internet traffic will significantly exceed human usage. Cloudflare has been tracking this transition via its public Radar dashboard, which monitors global internet traffic patterns. The rapid increase in automated requests indicates a steeper adoption curve for AI agents than previously predicted.
