CXMT Launches 24-Gbit LPDDR5X Memory Products Amid Mass Production of G5 Platform

ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT), a prominent player in China's DRAM industry, has officially launched its 24-Gbit LPDDR5X memory products, which are built on a newly developed platform. This LPDDR5X lineup includes 12Gb and 16Gb dies, with packaged solutions available in 12GB, 16GB, and 24GB capacities.

In addition, CXMT has introduced LPCAMM modules in 16GB and 32GB configurations, designed for thinner and more power-efficient laptops. The company began mass production of LPDDR5X memory at speeds of 8,533 Mbps and 9,600 Mbps in May 2025, and by October 2025, it moved to customer sampling for its top-tier 10,667 Mbps variant.

Compared to previous generations, the LPDDR5X products offer a 66% increase in bandwidth and a 30% reduction in power consumption. At the International IC China expo in November 2025, CXMT showcased DDR5 products achieving speeds up to 8,000 Mbps with die densities of 24Gb.

By mid-2026, CXMT's LPDDR5X memory entered commercial supply chains, powering devices such as the Nubia NaviX Ultra smartphone. The company also initiated mass production of LPDDR6 memory by September 2026, with Xiaomi's Xiaomi 18 Fold among the early adopters.

Operating multiple 12-inch fabrication facilities in Hefei and Beijing, CXMT aims for a production capacity of approximately 300,000 wafers per month by the end of 2026. The company has been steadily advancing from DDR4 to LPDDR5X and now to LPDDR6, while also exploring NAND flash technologies to strengthen its presence in the memory chip market.

With plans for an eventual IPO, CXMT is positioning itself as more than just a domestic supplier, aiming to compete on a global scale.
