DWF Labs Secures VASP Approval from BVI Financial Services Commission

Cryptelio Editorial Published 3 Sep 2026 · 12:31 UTC

DWF Labs, a prominent investor and market maker in the digital asset space, has announced a significant expansion of its global regulatory presence. The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission (BVI FSC) has granted DWF Labs approval to operate as a registered Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) under the BVI’s Virtual Assets Service Providers Act 2022.

This approval allows DWF Labs to engage in the exchange of various forms of virtual assets and to provide financial services related to the issuance and sale of these assets. Institutional clients will now have access to DWF Labs’ integrated over-the-counter (OTC) trading and market-making capabilities, which include spot trading across a wide array of digital assets and stablecoins through a regulated entity based in the BVI.

The BVI has emerged as a key jurisdiction for decentralized ledger technology and the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA), currently accounting for nearly 10% of the global market for tokenized US treasuries, valued at approximately $1.5 billion. Additionally, BVI-based entities facilitate over $1.2 billion in active circulating stablecoins, supported by more than 24,700 stablecoin holders and weekly transfer volumes reaching $694.1 million.

Heng Lee, Managing Director and Partner at DWF Labs, emphasized the importance of this regulatory approval, stating that it represents a crucial step in responsibly expanding their regulated digital asset services for international institutional clients. He noted that as the digital asset market matures and adoption grows, this regulatory framework will enable DWF Labs to offer a wider range of solutions while maintaining a commitment to transparency and governance.

DWF Labs, established in 2022, is recognized as one of the largest high-frequency digital asset trading organizations, operating across more than 80 centralized and decentralized exchanges. The firm supports a significant portion of CoinMarketCap’s top projects and collaborates with over 1,000 blockchain companies across various sectors, including DeFi, gaming, and tokenization.
