Faker Qualifies for 11th League of Legends World Championship in 2026

Lee Sang-hyeok, widely recognized as Faker, has officially qualified for his 11th League of Legends World Championship as of September 1, 2026. His team, T1, secured a playoff position in the LCK after GEN.G's victory over KT, allowing them to qualify without needing to win their own match.

This latest qualification marks Faker's sixth consecutive appearance at the World Championship, a streak that began in 2021 and includes every year since. His impressive history at the Worlds includes appearances in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019, along with his recent consecutive qualifications.

Faker became the first player to achieve ten or more Worlds appearances in September 2025, and he has now extended that record to eleven, a feat unmatched by any other player. Since his professional debut in 2013, many of his early competitors have retired or shifted careers, yet Faker continues to compete at the highest level.

T1 has claimed six World Championship titles, with Faker playing a pivotal role in all of them. The team recently achieved a historic three-peat, winning in 2023, 2024, and 2025. With this upcoming Worlds run, Faker aims to add a seventh title to T1's accolades and potentially extend their championship streak into a four-peat.
