FIFA Collect Surpasses 1 Million Users Following Migration to Avalanche Blockchain

FIFA’s digital collectibles platform, FIFA Collect, has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 1 million users. This achievement follows the platform's migration to a custom Avalanche-powered Layer-1 blockchain, which was completed in May 2025.

Previously operating on Algorand and some activities on Polygon, FIFA Collect's transition to what it calls the FIFA Blockchain has granted the organization full control over its infrastructure, including validators, fee structures, and upgrade schedules. The migration has proven beneficial, particularly during the peak activity of the 2026 World Cup, where on-chain transaction volumes surged to 24 times the normal levels.

Shortly after the launch, over 85,000 unique addresses were created on the FIFA Blockchain. The secondary market has also seen substantial activity, with Right-to-Buy and Right-to-Ticket assets generating over $25 million in trading volume during the World Cup, highlighting the platform's appeal to collectors.

The FIFA Blockchain is EVM-compatible, allowing developers to utilize familiar tools and smart contract languages. This compatibility, combined with FIFA's control over the chain, enables the organization to set its own transaction fees and manage upgrades independently. The migration was described as seamless, ensuring minimal disruption to user experience.

FIFA Collect continues to engage users through collectible drops and fan engagement events, sustaining interest even after the World Cup.
