Mutsamudu, Comoros, October 16, 2026 — MEXC, a global cryptocurrency exchange, has published its AI Trading Report, which is based on a survey of 3,708 crypto traders. This report investigates how traders employ AI, the extent of authority they are willing to delegate, and the protective measures they expect from trading platforms.

Key findings from the report indicate that 84.8% of respondents have utilized AI for trading or research purposes. While 58.3% of users reported enhancements in market research, only 46% noted improvements in trade execution, with 54% still not seeing any execution benefits. Notably, half of the respondents expressed interest in AI agents but have yet to experiment with them.

Among those who use AI, 65.9% act on its recommendations at least occasionally, but only 20% have executed trades without prior approval. Furthermore, 54% are willing to allow AI to trade with some funds, but most would limit this to no more than 20% of their account, with only 6.5% willing to authorize more than half.

Concerns about automated trading are prevalent, as half of the users experienced with automated execution worry about their ability to detect or halt issues in a timely manner. The report shows that willingness to engage in automated trading increases from 55% to 71.8% when risk limits on funds, positions, leverage, and losses are introduced.

Support for protective measures is high, with 95.5% of respondents advocating for at least one mandatory safety feature, even as many prefer to maintain control over their settings. The report also highlights that younger participants (aged 18-34) show a higher adoption rate of AI at 88.5%, compared to 69.9% among those aged 45 and older.

AI's primary function remains in pre-trade preparation, with 54.3% of users summarizing news as a frequent task, followed by market analysis (48.6%) and identifying trading opportunities (38%). Direct execution is notably less common, with only 7.6% of users selecting it as a primary task.

On the topic of oversight, 46.2% of respondents prefer exchanges to provide customizable safety settings, significantly more than the 25.7% who favor uniform minimum requirements. This reflects a desire for user choice without completely dismissing industry standards, as 97.8% of those who prefer optional settings support at least one mandatory measure.

Vugar Usi Zade, CEO of MEXC, commented, “As AI becomes more integrated into trading, our findings show that users don’t want less control. They want clearer boundaries.”
