USDT on TRON Surpasses Bitcoin as Top Onchain Payment Method on CoinsBee

CoinsBee, a global platform facilitating cryptocurrency payments for everyday purchases, has reported that USDT (TRC-20) on the TRON network has emerged as the most-used onchain payment option. Over the last 90 days, USDT on TRON recorded approximately 1.8 times more payments than Bitcoin and 1.9 times more than Ethereum, according to data released by CoinsBee.

In 2026 to date, USDT on TRON accounted for 16.23% of all payments on CoinsBee, a significant increase from 9.92% in 2025, marking a 64% rise in its share of total payments. This trend highlights the growing acceptance of stablecoins for retail transactions, in addition to their traditional roles in trading and investing.

In the United States, popular brands purchased using USDT on TRON included Amazon, Apple, and Walmart, covering various categories such as retail, gaming, and food delivery. Notably, over the past 90 days, TRC20 accounted for 44.6% of USDT payments on CoinsBee, but contributed 64.5% of the total turnover, indicating that purchases made through TRON were of higher average value compared to other networks.

To promote the use of USDT on TRON, CoinsBee and TRON DAO have launched a joint campaign offering a 2% discount on purchases made with USDT on TRON from September 21 to October 5, 2026. Users can activate the discount by entering the code USDT-TRC in the CoinsBee app.

Iván Escamilla Rodriguez, Product and Growth Lead at CoinsBee, noted that the increase in USDT's usage reflects a broader trend of consumers utilizing stablecoins for everyday purchases. Sam Elfarra, Community Spokesperson at TRON DAO, emphasized that stablecoins gain utility when they can be used for regular transactions.
