XRP Network Sees 655% Surge in Active Addresses Amidst Stablecoin Growth

The XRP Ledger has witnessed a dramatic surge in active addresses, increasing by 654.71% to around 356,000. This spike stands out against the backdrop of the token's relatively stable price action, which has hovered around the $1 mark for much of 2026.

In August 2026, daily active addresses averaged approximately 35,700, reflecting a 35% increase from July's average of about 26,400. The highest daily peak during this period reached around 49,900 addresses. Alongside this growth in active addresses, transaction activity has also seen a notable rise, with successful transactions on the XRP Ledger increasing by approximately 65.5% and overall transaction volume rising by about 38.5%.

The second quarter of 2026 recorded 222.4 million transactions, marking it as the second-highest quarterly total ever for the ledger. Earlier this year, the XRP Ledger crossed a significant milestone with over 8 million activated accounts by July, up from roughly 7.85 million in March. However, new address creation has remained relatively flat at around 2,260 per day, indicating that the increase in activity is primarily driven by existing holders rather than new entrants.

A key factor contributing to this surge appears to be the rising interest in tokenization, particularly surrounding Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin. By mid-2026, approximately 59,000 holders were utilizing stablecoins on the XRP Ledger, with RLUSD positioned as an alternative to USDC and USDT for institutional settlement use cases.
