Zankore Secures $3.1 Billion Financing for AI Infrastructure in Indonesia

Zankore, a newly launched AI compute platform, has successfully obtained a senior term loan facility worth up to $3.1 billion. This financing, announced on September 9, is aimed at deploying GPU infrastructure across Indonesia and Southeast Asia, making it one of the largest AI infrastructure financings in the region's history.

The loan is backed by a consortium of prominent banks including Citigroup, ING, Natixis, Qatar National Bank, and United Overseas Bank, with Citigroup serving as the exclusive debt adviser. Zankore, which launched just a month prior in August 2026, is supported by major stakeholders such as Ooredoo Group, NVIDIA, and Nokia. Ooredoo Group alone has invested approximately $800 million for a 49% stake in the venture.

The immediate objective for Zankore is to deploy an initial 100 MW of NVIDIA AI infrastructure, with plans to expand to approximately 200 MW by the first half of 2027. The long-term goal is to achieve 1 GW of NVIDIA DSX AI Factory capacity within three years, providing GPU-as-a-Service to enterprises and startups in the region.

In addition to its ambitious infrastructure goals, Zankore aims to develop region-specific AI systems, including Sahabat-AI, a large language model tailored for Southeast Asian languages and contexts. The platform is positioned to address the growing demand for hyperscale AI infrastructure across Southeast Asia, leveraging the existing network and regulatory expertise of its telecom backers.
