Anna Ridler and Sofia Crespo Honored at ABS Digital Art Prize

Anna Ridler and Sofia Crespo have jointly secured the Artist of the Year accolade at the 2025 Arab Bank Switzerland (ABS) Digital Art Prize. This prestigious award, now in its third year, highlights pioneering digital artists and offers recipients a solo exhibition at a cultural institution within the following year.

The announcement was made during a ceremony at NFC Lisbon, with the results revealed in Geneva. Ridler and Crespo's collaborative work, particularly their piece titled “Snapshots: Orchids,” has been celebrated for its intricate blend of analog photography and advanced AI techniques. Their art invites viewers to reflect on the complex interplay between human perception, technology, and nature.

The ABS Digital Art Prize, established in 2023, aims to elevate digital artists within the rapidly changing blockchain and digital asset ecosystems. The jury consists of notable figures in the industry, including Alejandro Cartagena and Rani Jabban. Previous winners have included Marjan Moghaddam and RVig, who have made significant contributions to the digital art scene.

In addition to the main award, Cezar Mocan was recognized as the inaugural Emerging Artist of the Year for his thought-provoking digital narrative, “World Upstream.” This category attracted over 120 entries from 38 countries, showcasing the growing interest in digital art.

Rani Jabban, Managing Director of Arab Bank Switzerland, expressed pride in promoting digital art and supporting artists in this evolving sector. The prize continues to draw attention to the future of art as it intersects with technology.
