This Privacy Policy explains how Cryptelio (“Cryptelio”, “we”, “us”) processes personal data when you use https://cryptelio.cc and related pages, forms, and feeds (the “Site”).
1. Who we are
Cryptelio is an independent crypto news publication operated under the Cryptelio brand at cryptelio.cc. For privacy requests, contact hello@cryptelio.cc.
If we appoint a data protection contact or establish a legal entity details page later, we will update this policy.
2. Scope
This policy covers personal data processed through the Site: browsing, accounts, comments, newsletter subscription, contact emails, and optional analytics after consent where required.
It does not cover third-party websites you may visit via your own browser or external apps. Telegram channels listed on the Site are operated under separate messaging-platform rules.
3. Data we collect
Account data: name or display name, email address, password (stored hashed), preferred language, email verification status, and account timestamps.
Comments: comment text, locale, parent reply id if any, IP address and user-agent used for moderation/abuse prevention, and moderation status.
Newsletter: email address, locale/language preference, confirmation and unsubscribe tokens, subscription status, and related timestamps (double opt-in where enabled).
Technical and security data: IP address, browser type, device/approximate region derived from IP, request timestamps, and basic server logs needed to run and protect the Site.
Cookies and similar technologies: theme preference, session/auth cookies, cookie-consent choice, and — only if you accept analytics cookies — analytics identifiers from tools we configure (for example Google Analytics or Yandex Metrica).
Communications: the content of messages you send to hello@cryptelio.cc and related metadata (time sent).
We do not intentionally collect special categories of data (health, political opinions, etc.). Please do not submit such information in comments or forms.
4. How we collect data
Directly from you when you register, sign in, comment, subscribe, change preferences, or email us.
Automatically when you load the Site (server logs, cookies/local storage as described above).
From security or infrastructure providers that help us host, deliver, and protect the Site (for example CDN/DNS providers such as Cloudflare), which may process connection data under their own terms.
5. Purposes and legal bases
Provide the Site and user features (accounts, comments, language editions) — performance of a contract / steps at your request.
Moderate comments, prevent spam, fraud, and abuse — legitimate interests in keeping the Site safe and lawful.
Send newsletter digests you requested after confirmation — consent (you may withdraw anytime via unsubscribe).
Answer support and editorial emails — legitimate interests and/or steps at your request.
Measure aggregate audience and improve the Site with analytics cookies — consent where required; otherwise limited essential measurement without non-essential cookies.
Comply with legal obligations (for example responding to lawful requests) — legal obligation.
6. Cookies
Essential cookies: authentication/session, security, load balancing, and remembering cookie consent. These are needed for the Site to work.
Preference cookies: for example light/dark theme stored locally or in a cookie so your choice persists.
Analytics cookies: used only after you accept cookies via our banner (where shown). You can refuse analytics and still use the Site.
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies may break login or other features.
7. Sharing of data
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share data with processors who help us operate the Site: hosting, email delivery, CDN/security, captcha, and analytics providers (if enabled). They may process data only on our instructions and under appropriate agreements where applicable.
We may disclose data if required by law, to protect rights, safety, and security, or in connection with a reorganization of the Cryptelio project, with safeguards equivalent to this policy.
Published comments and public profile display names are visible to other readers by design.
8. International transfers
Our infrastructure and vendors may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms offered by providers) or other lawful transfer grounds.
9. Retention
Accounts: kept while your account remains active; we may delete or anonymize inactive accounts after a reasonable period or upon verified deletion request.
Comments: kept while published or needed for moderation history; removed or anonymized when deleted by moderation or upon valid request where feasible.
Newsletter records: kept while subscribed; after unsubscribe we may retain minimal suppression data so we do not email you again accidentally.
Server and security logs: typically short periods (days to a few months) unless needed longer for security investigations.
Email correspondence: kept as long as needed to handle your request and maintain ordinary business records.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a news website (HTTPS, hashed passwords, access controls, moderation tools). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
11. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data; to object to certain processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent (for example newsletter or analytics cookies).
To exercise rights, email hello@cryptelio.cc from the address associated with your account or request where possible. We may need to verify your identity.
You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe our processing violates applicable law.
12. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 16 (or the higher age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child provided data, contact us and we will delete it where appropriate.
13. Automated decisions
We do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means about you as a Site user. Spam filters and moderation heuristics may affect whether a comment is held for review.
14. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes may also be highlighted on the Site or by email where appropriate. Continued use after updates means you acknowledge the revised policy.
