Ledger Appoints Oded Blatman as Chief Information and Security Officer

Ledger has announced the appointment of Oded Blatman as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Security Officer (CSO). Blatman, who previously served as CIO and CISO at Fireblocks, will report to Ledger Chairman and CEO Pascal Gauthier.

His new role merges two traditionally separate positions, reflecting Ledger's view that technology and security are increasingly interlinked, especially with the rise of tokenization and AI in the digital asset space.

Blatman's responsibilities will encompass a wide range of areas including cyber and infrastructure security, product security, physical security, enterprise risk management, and internal IT operations. This strategic move comes in response to a shifting threat landscape, where sophisticated AI-generated phishing and autonomous attack systems pose significant risks.

In the past year, the crypto industry has suffered losses of approximately $1.4 billion due to hacks and exploits, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced security measures. Ledger aims to bolster its security framework as it prepares for the upcoming Ledger OP3N event on October 15, where it plans to unveil major announcements.

Ledger's commitment to security is further demonstrated by its recent initiatives, including the rollout of an AI security roadmap and the introduction of Cerberus, an AI-powered vulnerability detection system designed to identify security weaknesses proactively.
