Tennessee Bank Teller Arrested for Allegedly Stealing $60,000 from Customers

Memphis authorities have arrested Demeries Coplin Brooks, a 24-year-old bank teller at First Bank, on multiple charges including theft of property and forgery. Brooks is accused of draining customer accounts by making unauthorized cash withdrawals using old withdrawal slips between December 2023 and February 2024.

The total loss to customer accounts is reported to be $60,000. Following a fraud investigation, Brooks was identified as the suspect and is now facing several charges, including seven counts of criminal simulation and fraudulent use of marks or logos. He is currently being held on a $25,000 bond.
